Warp Speed® Ingredients
Below you will find a list and description of all of the ingredients featured in this dietary supplement.
Mulungu Bark
Mulungu bark is an excellent stress reducer and sedative to calm agitation, nervous coughs and other nervous system problems including insomnia. Herbalists and practitioners in the U.S. use Mulungu to quiet hysteria from trauma or shock, as a mild hypnotic sedative to calm the nervous system, to address insomnia and promote healthy sleeping patterns by sedating overactive neurotransmitters, to regulate heart palpations, hepatitis, and liver disorders.
The traditional use of mulungu bark for anxiety and stress was validated by researchers in a recent (2002) study, where it was shown to alter anxiety-related responses. An animal model (correlating to human generalized anxiety disorder, as well as panic disorder) was undertaken on a water-alcohol extract of mulungu. The researchers reported that the mulungu extract had an effect similar to the commonly-prescribed anti-anxiety drug diazepam.
Normally, when taken by itself, mulungu can cause drowsiness. But when taken with low levels of a stimulant such as caffeine or guarana, mulungu bark has the effect of "smoothing out" the stimulant.
Further research has validated the traditional use of mulungu bark as an antimicrobial agent for throat and urinary disorders.
Bacopa Monnieri Herb
A classic brain and nerve tonic, Bacopa Monnieri is a medicinal herb that has been used for hundreds of years as a rejuvenative for the brain and nervous system. It is believed to increase mental clarity, improve concentration, and to promote memory and intelligence. It also assists in heightening mental acuity and supports the physiological processes involved in relaxation. Bacopa is thought to help nourish neurons as it restores depleted synaptic activity.
Studies have indicated that Bacopa can help:
- Improve memory
- Enhance episodic memory
- Increase learning speed and learning capacity
- Work as an anxiety & stress reducer
- Support healthy cerebral function
- Promote awareness and perception
- Improve concentration and attention span
- Diminish attention-deficit problems
- Balance emotional states
- Nourish and rejuvenates the mind
- Lower mental fatigue
- Protect the brain from free-radical damage
- Help in the handling of increasingly difficult tasks
- Promote vigilance
- Inhibit age-related cognitive decline
The most interesting of the many uses of Bacopa is its ability to help increase novelty-seeking behavior, an attribute of intelligence associated with increased mental pleasure and increased lifespan.
Green Tea Leaf
Green tea antioxidants are of the same family as grape seed and pine bark extracts. They are polyphenols, chief of which are the flavonoids called proanthocyanidins. In green tea, the main proanthocyanidins are the catechins, and the most powerful of the catechins is Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), found in the highest concentration in green tea.
Green tea as a health supplement works to help stop tumors from developing the blood vessels they need to survive. It has been shown to inhibit metastasis. And it is the first known natural telomerase inhibitor.
And the benefits of green tea don't stop there. It has also been shown to be helpful in regulating blood sugar, reducing triglycerides, and in reversing the ravages of heart disorders. (Incidentally, the Japanese, who drink large amounts of green tea, have some of the lowest rates of cardiovascular disorders in the world.)
Finally, green tea has great benefits for the brain as well, serving as a helpful MAO inhibitor, protecting against brain-cell death from glucose oxidase, over-production of nitric oxide, and lowering the amount of free iron reaching the brain (a bad thing). The net result is that there are strong indications that green tea extract may play a major role in protecting against both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
The amount of caffeine found in the green tea in two droppers of Warp Speed® is very low – just enough to complement the mulungu.
Stevia Leaf
Whether in dry-leaf or concentrate form, stevia has the wonderful ability to help the body regulate blood sugar levels. Several researchers have reported that, in these natural forms, stevia seems to correct both high and low blood sugar. Other scientists have stated that stevia appears to lower blood pressure, but does not seem to affect normal blood pressure.
